COVID-19: Nigerian Governors Agree to Shut Down, Schools, Public Places
The five new cases of Coronavirus confirmed in Nigeria on Wednesday have forced Governors in the Northwest and North-central states to take a decision to shut down all schools in the region to forestall further spread.
At a meeting held in Kaduna state, the governors also agreed to restrict all public gathering.
Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ forum and Governor of Katsina state, Aminu Masari told meeting that a new suspected case of COVID-19 has been reported in his state.
He said the decision to shut down all schools in the northwest region is to avoid endangering the lives of children.
Nigeria has confirmed eight cases of Coronavirus so far.
