Germany, France, Spain Added on Nigeria’s Watchlist for COVID-19
The Nigerian government has added three more countries to its watchlist for Coronavirus.
They include Germany, France and Spain.
This brings the number of countries on the country’s priority list to eight.
The six countries earlier declared by Nigerian government were Italy, China, South Korea, Japan, Iran.
Briefing journalist’s in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, the minister of state for health, Doctor Osagie Ehanire said passengers from these eight countries will undergo critical screening at the ports of entries I to Nigeria.
He said Nigeria would continue to monitor travelers coming and going out of the country, explaining that, although the country has not recorded any new cases, the country is still at high risk.
Nigeria has so far recorded to cases of Coronavirus. The first case was a Milan who traveled from Italy into the country, while the second case established in the Southwestern state of Ogun was a contact of the Milan.
On Sunday, 15th March, a suspected case was announced in the Southeastern state of Enugu, but results if sample from the suspect later tested negative according to the Ministry of health.
