2018-19 Premier League winners, Manchester City have been banned from all European competitions by UEFA. This decision was announced on Friday after the European football body stated that the club was guilty of Uefa’s club licensing and financial fair play regulations.

In addition to their ban, the Premier League champions would also have to pay a fine of 30 million Euros. The Independent Adjudicatory Chamber of the Financial Control Body (CFCB) stated that City overstated sponsorship revenues in accounts that were submitted to UEFA from 2012-2016.

Manchester City representatives have responded to claims and have expressed their disappointment at the decision taken by UEFA.

The premier league champions currently sit 22 points behind league leaders, Liverpool, who are on quest to win their first league trophy in 30 years.
