New York City, (CABNC-TV) – Silicon Valley based company, Overland Tandberg, known for its development and invention of hybrid cloud IT infrastructure, data storage and archive solutions, recently announced that the company would be starting its Africa operations in Ghana.
The announcement came from the CEO of the company, Mr. Eric Kelly, just before the closing bell at the NASDAQ market site in New York City on Tuesday. Present at the market site for the announcement was H.E. Dr. Barfuor Adjei Barwuah,Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States who was welcomed in exquisite fashion, with his name appearing on the digital billboard in Times Square, New York City.
Kelly’s announcement comes after Ambassador Barwuah met with representatives from the company three months ago to discuss the importance of expanding into Ghana and the benefits Overland Tandberg would receive from operating in one of Africa’s biggest markets.
“We have worked at a neck breaking speed to make this possible in just about three months and I am happy to say that we have acquired an office space in Ghana and we are ready to start operations soon,” Kelly Said.
This announcement also comes at a time when fellow U.S tech company, Andela, hosted an event that welcomed experienced software engineers and tech journalists in Ghana. The aim of the event was to recruit more engineers in 2020 for Andela’s operations in Ghana.
